“Registering a .com.np Domain: A Step-by-Step Guide”

If you’re a business or individual in Nepal, registering a .com.np domain is free and adds local credibility to your online presence. Here’s how to get it done:


Step 1: Choose Your Domain Name

Pick a domain name that matches your brand or business name.
Example: yourbusiness.com.np

⚠️ Make sure the name matches your company name or personal name as per your documents.


Step 2: Prepare Required Documents

You’ll need scanned copies of:

  • For individuals:

    • Citizenship certificate (front & back)

  • For organizations/companies:

    • Company registration certificate

    • PAN certificate (recommended)


Step 3: Create an Account on Mercantile’s Website

Go to: https://register.com.np

  • Click “Create User”

  • Fill in your details and verify via email


Step 4: Check Domain Availability

  • Use the search bar to check if your desired domain is available

  • If available, click “Register Now”


Step 5: Fill in Domain Registration Form

  • Add your domain name

  • Select your nameservers (from your hosting provider)
    Example: ns1.yourhost.com, ns2.yourhost.com


Step 6: Upload Your Documents

Upload required documents (PDF or image format). Make sure they’re clear and legible.


Step 7: Submit Your Request

After filling everything, click “Submit”

Step 8: Point Domain to Your Hosting
